Cerreto Guidi

Cerreto Guidi is a charming medieval village in the province of Florence, set on a hill overlooking the surrounding countryside and the Padule di Fucecchio wetland. Thanks to its strategic position along historic routes and near former hunting grounds, it played an important role from the Early Middle Ages onward.

In the 16th century, the village came under the influence of the Medici family, who left a lasting mark on the area. The imposing Medici Villa, built by Cosimo I with its distinctive brick access ramps, stands as the symbol of this period and was used both as a hunting residence and an administrative center.

Today, Cerreto Guidi preserves its historic character with a center developed around the Villa, ancient churches, traditional events such as the Festa del Cacciatore, and a landscape of rolling hills, vineyards, and olive groves producing Chianti wine and high-quality olive oil.

Cerreto Guidi is located in a strategic position in the heart of Tuscany, easily accessible and an ideal starting point for exploring the region. From here, it is easy to reach some of the most important art cities by car, such as Florence, Pisa, and Lucca, all about 45–60 minutes away.

How Reach Us

Inserrata is located in San Miniato, in the province of Pisa, about 15 km from Cerreto Guidi. To reach it by car, simply take the provincial road heading south and continue directly toward La Serra, a hamlet of San Miniato, until Via XXIV Maggio 79. The route, easily covered in about 20 minutes, passes through a classic Tuscan landscape of rolling hills, vineyards, and olive groves. A short drive immersed in the peace and beauty of the countryside.
