Montopoli Val d’Arno is a charming medieval village in the province of Pisa, set on a hill overlooking the Arno River. Its origins date back to the Early Middle Ages and, due to its strategic position, it was long contested by Pisa, Lucca, and Florence.

In the 13th century, it came under Florentine control and became an important military stronghold, as evidenced today by the remains of its walls, towers, and fortress. During the Medici period, it served as the seat of a significant vicariate.

Today, Montopoli has preserved the charm of its past, with its historic center, ancient churches, and traditional events such as the Medieval Festival, which each year brings its streets to life with historical reenactments and performances. How Reach Us

Inserrata is located in San Miniato, in the province of Pisa, about 5 km from Montopoli Val d’Arno. To reach it by car, simply take the provincial road heading south and continue directly toward La Serra, a hamlet of San Miniato, until Via XXIV Maggio 79. The route, easily covered in about 10 minutes, passes through a classic Tuscan landscape of rolling hills, vineyards, and olive groves. A short drive immersed in the peace and beauty of the countryside.
