FAQ

San Gimignano

San Gimignano is one of the most iconic medieval towns in Tuscany, located in the province of Siena and famous for its unmistakable skyline of towers rising above the surrounding hills. Set among vineyards and olive groves, it has preserved the charm of the Middle Ages and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Its origins date back to the Etruscan period, but the town reached its peak during the Middle Ages thanks to the Via Francigena and the trade of saffron and wine. It was during this time that the famous towers were built, symbols of power for the noble families. From the 14th century onward it came under Florentine control, yet it has maintained its historic structure almost intact over the centuries.

Today, San Gimignano represents a perfect balance of history, landscape and tradition, offering an authentic experience in the heart of Tuscany.
